Delicious Iftar Special Flattened Rice Desert | USA | UK | Pakistan | 2023


 


Flattened rice, also known as poha or beaten rice, is a popular ingredient in Indian cuisine. It can be used to make a variety of dishes, including desserts. Here is a recipe for a delicious flattened rice dessert:




Ingredients:



* 1 cup flattened rice (poha)

* 1/2 cup sugar

* 1/2 cup milk

* 1/4 cup grated coconut

* 1/4 cup chopped almonds

* 1/4 cup raisins

* 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

* 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)




Instructions:



1. Rinse the flattened rice in water and let it soak for 10-15 minutes until it becomes soft. Drain the water and set the flattened rice aside.


2. Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped almonds and raisins and fry until they turn golden brown.


3. Add grated coconut and fry for 2-3 minutes.


4. Add the soaked flattened rice to the pan and mix well.


5. Add sugar and cardamom powder and mix well. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes.


6. Add milk and stir well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the milk is absorbed.


7. Turn off the heat and let the dessert cool for a few minutes.


8. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with more chopped almonds and raisins if desired.
