How to make delicious Chicken Tehari | Delicious mouth watering Recipe | Ramadan Special 2023

Chicken Tehari is a popular South Asian dish that consists of rice cooked with chicken and a variety of spices. Here's a simple recipe to make Chicken Tehari at home:

Ingredients:

* 2 cups Basmati rice

* 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into small pieces

* 2 onions, finely chopped

* 2 tomatoes, finely chopped

* 1 tsp ginger paste

* 1 tsp garlic paste

* 1 tsp cumin powder

* 1 tsp coriander powder

* 1 tsp turmeric powder

* 1 tsp red chili powder

* 2-3 green cardamom pods

* 2-3 cloves

* 1 cinnamon stick

* Salt to taste

* 3 tbsp cooking oil

* 4 cups water

* Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

1. Wash the rice thoroughly in cold water and soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.

2. Heat oil in a large pot or a pressure cooker. Add onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

3. Add ginger and garlic paste, and fry for a few seconds until the raw smell disappears.

4. Add chicken pieces to the pot and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until the chicken turns golden brown.

5. Add chopped tomatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cardamom pods, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes become mushy.

6. Drain the water from the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix the rice with the spices and chicken, and fry for a few minutes until the rice grains turn slightly opaque.

7. Add 4 cups of water and salt to taste. Bring the water to a boil and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.

8. Cook on low heat until the rice is tender and all the water has been absorbed. If using a pressure cooker, cook for 2-3 whistles.

9. Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

10. Serve hot with raita, salad, or your favorite side dish.

Enjoy your delicious homemade Chicken Tehari!
