Ramadan Special Kunafa Recipe that once you try that’ll make you an addict | Ramadan Special 2023 Recipe


 


Kunafa is a Middle Eastern dessert made with shredded phyllo dough, cheese, and a sweet syrup. Here's a recipe for making tasty kunafa:



Ingredients:


* 1 lb. kunafa dough

* 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

* 1 lb. akkawi cheese, grated

* 1 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated

* 1/2 cup sugar

* 1/4 cup water

* 1 tablespoon lemon juice

* 1 teaspoon orange blossom water

* 1/2 cup chopped pistachios for garnish




Directions:



1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).


2. Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan with butter.


3. Shred the kunafa dough into small pieces using your hands.


4. Pour the melted butter over the kunafa dough and mix well.


5. Press half of the kunafa dough mixture into the bottom of the greased cake pan.


6. In a large bowl, mix the grated akkawi cheese, mozzarella cheese, and sugar together.


7. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the kunafa dough layer.


8. Cover the cheese mixture with the remaining half of the kunafa dough mixture.


9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the kunafa is golden brown.


10. In a small saucepan, mix the water, lemon juice, orange blossom water, and sugar together.


11. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.


12. Pour the hot syrup over the hot kunafa immediately after it comes out of the oven.


13. Let the kunafa cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing it into squares or wedges.


14. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve warm.
