The Best Italian sauce ever sugo (Italian tomato sauce) and healthy | Healthy Recipe | Ramadan Special 2023 |

 



Here’s a simple recipe for sugo (Italian tomato sauce):



Ingredients:


* 2 cans of whole peeled tomatoes (28 oz each)

* 1 onion, chopped

* 3 cloves of garlic, minced

* 2 tablespoons of olive oil

* 1 teaspoon of dried oregano

* Salt and black pepper, to taste

* 1/4 cup of fresh basil, chopped




Instructions:



1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.


2. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.


3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.


4. Add the canned tomatoes to the saucepan, along with the oregano, salt, and pepper.


5. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.


6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly.


7. Use an immersion blender or transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until it becomes smooth.


8. Return the saucepan to the heat and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.


9. Stir in the chopped basil and remove from heat.


10. Serve the sugo over your favorite pasta and enjoy!



Note: You can also add other ingredients to the sugo, such as meat or vegetables, to make it a heartier sauce.
